Pet Friendly Peak District

Dog sat in the sunshine on the rocks with the stunning peak district in the distance

The Peak District is the perfect place for you to enjoy a holiday with your four legged friend and our lodges are the perfect place to stay!

We have plenty of lodges that have been designated as pet friendly accommodation and at  Darwin Forest, we also have ‘The Coppice Spa’ and the 'Spinney Spa'– which are exclusive lodges with numerous pet friendly features including a doggy shower in the Coppice!

There are many walks to enjoy in the local area including our own woodland walks or on one of the many traffic free trails in the area. You can also enjoy spectacular walks in the Peak District – why not climb to the summit of Mam Tor or take a leisurely stroll through one of the picturesque dales?

Many of the pubs and cafes in the area allow dogs, and the Foresters at Darwin Forest has a designated dog friendly dining area. You can even take your dog to some of the local attractions including the Heights of Abraham and Crich Tramway Museum.

Whilst out walking, please follow the countryside codes and leave nothing but footprints. Remember to:

  • Keep your dog under control
  • Keep your dog on its lead around livestock. However if you are chased by livestock it is safer to let your dog off the lead
  • Pick up all dog mess and dispose of its responsibly
  • Do not let your dog into any children’s play areas
